August 1, 1808: Fifty years after the tale of Josiah Stubb ends on the Plains of Abraham, another British army lands on the shores of the Iberian Peninsula. Among them is Josiah's grandson, Daniel. The British have come to teach Napoleon a lesson, but behind the bravado uncertainties abound.
