Crossing Borders: A Hispanic Experience, is a first of its kind work as it transcends the realms of language, culture and the psychology of identity in order to bring forth a new theoretical model with which to view and interpret the conflict which ensues upon contact between two or more groups within a context of asymmetrical power relations. While the work focuses on Hispanics and more specifically Mexicans in the United States, offering invaluable information and insight into the topic of immigration along the United States-Mexico border and a first of its kind look at Las Vegas, the theoretical model offered can be applied to any transnational/transmigrant scenario.
