Critical Eyes is a rich multi-layered and emotion-inspiring depiction of the human condition through poetic verse, which suggests that by examining the mundane (and)... everydayness, we learn more about our frailty, responsibility and fear. David whips language into vivid pictures of what we often ignore. Critical Eyes is spiritual, painful and powerful as it problematizes remaining silent about injustice, racism. David captures what poetry ought to be... courageous and insightful.Joaquin Flores, Ph.D. - Director of REAL: Riverside Emerging Artists League in New York City, and Invited Poet of Riverside Church's John Donne/ George Herbert Society writes - David Ragland has embarked in his personal journey to redeem his anger for the injustices in the world, in his own personal life. This is a journey most of us need, yet avoid; for those important moments when you want poetry that seeks justice, read Dave Ragland's Critical Eyes: a work unfinished, as it should be.
