My name is Alexander, and this book is a tale of our immigration. This story is about my family, about a new country, and about expectations both fulfilled and unfulfilled.
Our story began at the moment we decided to leave our past behind - countries with capitalism, socialism, and democracy, which, as time showed, did not always live up to the ideals they proclaimed. We were looking for a place where freedom would be more than just a word, where every person would have the opportunity to live and grow without facing the limitations imposed by society or the economy.
I am not a writer. I am an engineer, a person of technology, accustomed to precision and logic. But in this book, I will try to convey not only facts and events but also the emotions, experiences, joys, and disappointments we encountered on this journey.
This book is not just about our path to a new country, but also about an inner journey, about searching for oneself and one's place in this new world. It's a story about the importance of not fearing change and stepping into the unknown, if hope for better lives in your heart. Welcome to our story.
