This book is an exploration of the significance of time in shaping collective memory and its relevance to understanding that the past remains tentative and will always be altered in time to come. It is a methodical analysis aimed at ascertaining that collective memory cannot be validated as a historical source without being checked against objective evidence. This is so because memory lies not so much in its factuality as in its actuality thus creating a platform for the development of an analytical tool for individual and collective memory as it affects authorial intent. Recent reviews of this unique war and its legacy, has attracted a lot of controversy and unfortunately cast shadows on the sincerity of these representations.
