Two friends in college get a first hand exposure to the Nazis as they come to power in Germany. It nearly costs one his life. As the World War looms on the horizon they decide to do what they can to defeat them from inside the Abwehr. Both from well-to-do families, one German the other Yugoslav, they could have chosen to sit out the war. The German has worldwide business interests, but he decides that he can't just stand by and watch the people he loves and the world he knows be torn apart. He convinces his Yugoslav friend to join him. Like heading to the casinos they knew so well, in the beginning the stakes were low and easy. As time went by, staying in the game became more and more dangerous.
