It all starts with coffee, and it all seems to end in heartache. Love isn't fair. Sometimes it's fireworks, bright lights, and insurmountable passion; sometimes it's burn marks, headaches, and not so bright thoughts. Sometimes, the coffee cures the headache and inspires the mind; but sometimes, it burns just as badly as the betrayal you've been through...and it leaves a bad taste. Throughout all of the pain, though, the pen has always been a savior. A release. The thoughts that cloud our minds, like our coffee, sometimes need to be released. They need to be put out into the world, so we can rid ourselves of the harm they cause. Clouded Coffee is result of Brennan Patrick's process of clearing his mind. Here, he has laid out a chronological account of his emotional and mental state throughout what some would consider the most emotionally challenging years of our life. We are introduced to a contemplative Brennan staring out of a cafe window, pondering the very what-if and why-so relationship questions that most of us wonder about on a daily basis. Except, he's over the one that hurt him so deeply... Or is he? The next year would be an emotional roller coaster that only poetry could capture so vividly. We follow Brennan throughout his journey to find answers, happiness, serenity, acceptance, and most importantly himself. In this book, there will be direct references to depression, suicide, sex, crude and suggestive language, and many other questionable themes. It is not for the faint of heart, nor those easily offended. It is, however, for anyone who has been through any sort of emotional downfall, anyone who questions themselves, anyone battling with depression, anyone who doesn't feel accepted, anyone with a love for poetry, anyone with passion, and anyone who needs something to relate to. You are accepted within the bounds of these books. Please continue with an open mind and heart, and please enjoy your stay.
