At 37, Alex Toy was hospitalized for 12 days. Not for something visible or easy to explain. For a mental health crisis built from years of burnout and anxiety, the kind of quiet collapse that happens when a person has been functioning at full capacity for too long, holding too much, and never once stopping to ask what was actually happening underneath.
Click Next is the memoir of what came after.
Part personal reckoning and part practical guide, Click Next is a practice for healing and building inner stability when life falls apart: the slow, unsentimental work of regulating the nervous system and rebuilding a life from the inside out. Not through discipline or optimization, but through daily meditation and the harder practice of presence, learning to break the loop and stop clicking to the next thing long enough to be in the one in front of you.
The whole practice rests on one old idea, Buddhist long before it was anything else: you are not your thoughts. Alex first heard it at a meditation center years before he needed it, walked out thinking it was not for him, and found it waiting on the day his mind would not stop. Twenty minutes a morning is what turned it from something that happened to him once into something he could reach for on purpose.
For anyone who has kept going long past the point where going made sense, for anyone who looks fine on the outside and knows something is off underneath, Click Next is an honest account of what breaking open actually looks like. Not the inspirational version. The real one.
Alex Toy is a health coach, meditation and mindfulness practitioner, and founder of Vixionary. This is the book about what had to happen before any of that was possible.
