Childhood Fragrance is an emotionally powerful and deeply reflective novel that explores the delicate threads of memory, loss, identity, and the invisible connections that shape human lives. Through Horilal's extraordinary journey, the story takes readers into the forgotten corners of childhood, where unresolved emotions, hidden truths, and silent wounds continue to influence the present.
Set against the rich cultural landscape of Bundelkhand, this novel beautifully blends mystery, human emotions, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. It explores how the smallest memories can leave the deepest impressions and how the experiences we try to forget often hold the answers we spend our lives searching for.
As Horilal begins uncovering the mysteries hidden within his past, he encounters the pain of loss, the weight of unspoken truths, and the courage required to open the doors he has avoided for years. Childhood Fragrance is a heartfelt story of grief, healing, resilience, and self-discovery that encourages readers to look beyond what is visible and listen to the stories buried within their own memories.
A moving exploration of the human heart, this novel reminds us that every forgotten moment, every silent emotion, and every unfinished chapter carries a story waiting to be understood.
Rahul Vishwakarma is a writer, poet, and global logistics professional whose literary journey reflects his fascination with human emotions, memories, and the experiences that connect people across distances. His journey as a writer began in 2015 aboard a research vessel sailing across the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea during an assignment with India's Ministry of Earth Sciences. Surrounded by endless horizons, he discovered a deeper perspective on life, resilience, and the stories hidden within human experiences.
Based in Vasco da Gama, Goa, Rahul continues to write stories that explore hope, survival, identity, and emotional truth. His poem Across the Same Sky received first prize in a global poetry competition organized by the Rotary Fellowship of Authors for World Poetry Day in April 2026.
Childhood Fragrance is Rahul Vishwakarma's second novel, following his debut novel Escaping the Hormuz and his anthology Between the Planets. Through his works, he continues to create narratives that inspire readers to discover extraordinary meaning within ordinary moments.
