This book of poetry begins with the 50th anniversary of the first walk on the Moon, and ends in a trail of blood. Miraculous human achievement and massive human brutality. It is a reflection of contemplation over the past fifty years. In a world of recurrent outrage, this book also embodies a prayer: for the responsible use of technology, for a renewable Earth, and for a global community, with bridges across cultural boundaries. Then Earth shall thrive/Like a tree by the stream/That all living things/May share in the dream. Charles M. Brock, throughout his adult life, has traveled the world transitioning between cultures. But he has always returned to his Chicagoland roots.
