Everyone loves the Cherubs. Sarah is the only one who can't. After a spectacular meteor shower lights up the Montana sky, strange furry creatures begin appearing across town. They are warm, affectionate, and impossibly lovable. Families welcome them into their homes. Children refuse to let them out of their sight. Within days, the entire community seems enchanted. Everyone except thirteen-year-old Sarah. The closer she gets to a Cherub, the harder it becomes to breathe. While everyone else insists the creatures are harmless, Sarah can't shake the feeling that something is terribly wrong. Then the family cat disappears. Soon more pets vanish. Neighbors begin acting strangely. People forget conversations they had only hours before. Those who once seemed dependable become distant, distracted, and strangely protective of the creatures they adore. Every explanation feels just believable enough-until the evidence begins to point toward something impossible. Sarah knows she isn't imagining it.
