The story of how Chase Found Grit was inspired by the educational challenges facing students as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the hope that Chase's experience might provide validation and support for students experiencing difficulty with virtual learning. The story begins with Chase feeling sentimental, remembering what he misses about school. This is interrupted by the realization that he hasn't completed his essay, leaving him emotionally overwhelmed. Through the help and encouragement of his support system, Chase realizes his strengths and that he has what it takes to persevere.
