As the fundraiser for a wildlife rescue center, Catrina Cat Carneri, isn't exactly where she expected to be at this time in her life; nursing a broken heart, in a dead-end job with an unappreciative boss, and living in her hometown, within minutes of her parents so she can do her laundry for free.
At first glance, Damon MacGregor is living his best life; living in his own country home, working at a job he loves alongside his best friend and living the bachelor's life-not willing to settle down for any woman. That is until a wounded crane brought his house-of-cards life crashing after he meets an enchanting stranger.
When they have a chance meeting at a wildlife rescue center, Cat's calm and organized demeanor impresses Damon. However, it's how she reminds him of fall in Wisconsin that makes him realize she's different than any other woman he's met. He can't help himself from concentrating on how her eyes flash flecks of green, brown and gold. How is that even possible? Then he changes focus on her luxurious curls full of fascinating colors; browns, golds, and reds. It is like all his favorite autumn shades in one beautiful place; a crown on top of a curvy figure that seems to beckon him to pull her into his arms and claim her as his own.
