Caldero is a historical novel written by Elizabeth Julia Hasell and first published in 1879. The story is set in the late 16th century and revolves around the life of a young girl named Catalina, who is born into a wealthy Spanish family. Catalina's life takes a dramatic turn when she is kidnapped by the notorious pirate, Captain Caldero. Despite her initial fear and reluctance, Catalina soon finds herself drawn to Caldero and the life of adventure that he offers. As she spends more time with the pirate crew, Catalina begins to question her own values and beliefs, and ultimately must choose between her old life and the new one that she has come to love. The novel is a gripping tale of love, betrayal, and adventure, set against the backdrop of the dangerous and exciting world of piracy in the 16th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
