The book on current linguistic developments in Chadic languages offers a comprehensive exploration of recent generative theoretical approaches such as minimalism, cartography, optimality and other linguistic domains such as onomasiology. It applies fine-grained syntactic cartography to the description of functional projections in the clausal and nominal domains of selected Chadic languages, a major branch of the Afroasiatic family spoken in Central and West Africa.
