A Cumberland Vendetta is a novella by American author John Fox Jr., originally published in 1895. The story is set in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky and centers around a longstanding feud between two families, the Tollivers and the Falins. When a member of the Tolliver family is murdered, his brother seeks revenge by hunting down the killer, who happens to be a member of the Falin family. As the two men engage in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, they are forced to confront the consequences of their actions and the toll that the feud has taken on their families and their community. A Cumberland Vendetta is a gripping tale of violence, revenge, and the destructive power of family feuds. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
