Although the institution of marriage has been in existence since the creation of the human race, mankind has struggled to achieve the benefits of peace and security that this institution is supposed to offer. Many books have been written on this subject, and numerous seminars and conferences have been held to answer the often asked question, 'What is the recipe for a blissful marriage? Therefore, as a result of the lack of knowledge of preserving a blissful marital relationship, the rate of domestic violence, arguments, broken homes, one-parent families, murder, and divorce continues to increase.The author of this book, who is also have been a married counsellor for over forty-five years, and has relentlessly pursuit in researching the reasons why this problem has always been so consistent among the human creation, has taken him back to the first two humans who was created, what was based on their relationship, only to discover that they were husband and wife.In order for them to enjoy a blissful relationship, they were given certain rules and regulations to follow in order to achieve a blissful married life, and among those fundamental rules were rights and obligations. They were also given the ability to show love, mercy, patience, tolerance, understanding, and reason among themselves, and in times of problems, if these qualities are acted upon, it would guarantee them a blissful, tranquil relationship. It is also within this institution that the lawful reproductions of the human race take place. As time elapsed, man went astray from the divine guidance that came to them from the originator of this institution, and although constant reminders of these rules and regulations came to the human race via the Prophets and Messengers, they have been repeatedly ignored.Cultural Perception of Marriage among Muslims is a textbook filled with advice and a recipe for achieving a blissful marital relationship, irrespective of race, colour, religion, ethnicity, nationality, and how a blissful marriage can be achieved when drawn from the divine text.
