This is a long-awaited book. It has finally been written by an ordinary person who happens to have extraordinary courage. This is the story of Louise, who tells us how she has lived with a serious handicap from an early age, and how she has managed to transcent suffering and accomplish an above-average journey. This book talks about scoliosis and the impact of a serious handicap on the life of a person and her family. As a physician, I am more than happy to see this book finally published. It gives useful medical information relating to scoliosis, but more important it gives physicians insight into the world of these patients. There are few books written that give so much information about the real meaning of disease and handicap on the life of a person. Physicians will learn more about the patient-doctor relationship than the teaching from hundreds of patients seen in the hospital.

By her tenacious and compassionate nature, Louise has already helped several people. She is aiming to help many more with this important and timely book.
