The fight against corruption in public procurement in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), integrating key aspects of the legal and institutional framework and challenges. In the DRC Public procurement is an essential lever for the socio-economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo, representing a significant proportion of state budget expenditure (up to 60% according to some estimates). Good management of public contracts is therefore crucial to the construction of infrastructure, the improvement of public services and the optimization of national resources. However, this sector is particularly exposed to the risks of corruption, fraud, embezzlement and fraudulent practices, which compromise the effectiveness of public investments, distort competition and undermine the confidence of citizens and international partners. Faced with these challenges, the DRC has embarked on a far-reaching reform process aimed at cleaning up the public procurement environment.
