This book is a testimony to the fact that God exists and that we can come to know Him through His only-begotten Son Jesus Christ. Many people, particularly in so-called developed nations and cultures, doubt whether God exists. I can understand that because I didn't know Him myself for the first forty two years of my life, and I think it's true to say that no one can know Him unless He chooses to make Himself known. The gulf between God and us is too great to bridge unless He takes the initiative. That gulf can otherwise be described as sin, which I think can best be summarised as our rebellion against Him in denying His authority over our lives. That sin was dealt with by the atoning death of Jesus on the cross. Jesus paid the price of our rebellion and reconciled us to God, both in this life and in the life to come. I repeat that God exists and that we can come to know Him, and I wrote this book to encourage those who suspect that He exists.
