Coralie: Or The Wreck Of The Sybille is a novel written by Charles Henry Eden and first published in 1877. The story is set in the early 19th century and follows the adventures of a young woman named Coralie, who is the daughter of a French naval officer. When her father is lost at sea, Coralie is taken in by her uncle, who is also a naval officer. However, her uncle mistreats her and eventually sells her into slavery.Coralie is then purchased by the captain of the Sybille, a British naval vessel, and becomes a member of the crew. She quickly proves herself to be a skilled sailor and gains the respect of her fellow crew members. However, disaster strikes when the Sybille is wrecked on a remote island, leaving Coralie and the rest of the crew stranded. The novel follows Coralie's struggles to survive on the island, as well as her attempts to escape and return to civilization. Along the way, she faces numerous challenges and dangers, including hostile natives and treacherous terrain.Coralie: Or The Wreck Of The Sybille is a thrilling adventure story that explores themes of survival, perseverance, and the strength of the human spirit. It is also a fascinating glimpse into the world of naval warfare and exploration in the early 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
