Sitting with Sussan the host and listening to George talk about his life, loves and music became more than what I expected. We talked about Olivia, Dhani his son and The Traveling Wilburys but there was more than just the discussion about these moments in a famous life. There was George's sense of humor.
George has a dry sense of humor, straight forward, tells it how he sees it, funny and understanding of his own short comings. We could not help but like him. Please join us as we talk to one of the most famous and interesting people of our time. George Harrison grew up in post war Liverpool, England, a grey, depressing industrial sprawl of factories and working class neighborhoods. With an unknown future he began his life as an electrical apprentice at the local store. However, he discovered his passion for the magic of music and what it could bestow on him. It empowered him and spoke of possibilities beyond his current world. Then one day, as if it was meant to be, he met Paul McCartney on a local bus and the rest is history.
The songs of the Beatles empowered us all, we could pick up a guitar, learn a few chords and make music, it changed many of us forever. Thank you to all the early pioneers of rock and roll. George was perceived as the quiet Beatle but behind that facade was a vibrant and interesting person searching deeply for his spiritual connection to the universe. Did he find it? He will tell you. He talks about his marriage to Olivia, his son Dhani and the other most important people in his life including the three members of The Beatles that shaped his life forever. George was a very sincere man, in love with music and his life but not understanding fully why he should die so young. Don't worry he now understands all the questions and answers of the puzzle which he will explain in his own words.
Whether you are a Beatle or George Harrison fan isn't important as you will enjoy the book equally. This is not a traditional biography, as all the facts and motions of his life are easily available. This is his understanding of his life from a higher place, his perception and ability to view his life free from judgment.
