The Saint Joseph Confirmation Book
The Saint Joseph Confirmation Book from Catholic Book Publishing Company is a beautifully prepared and pastorally rich guide designed to help young Catholics understand, prepare for, and live the Sacrament of Confirmation. Published in the trusted Saint Joseph Edition format, this compact hardcover volume offers clear teaching, reverent prayers, and accessible explanations that support candidates as they approach one of the most important moments in their Christian life: the strengthening of the Holy Spirit's gifts within them.
This book is crafted with the needs of Confirmation candidates in mind. Its tone is warm, encouraging, and faithful to Catholic teaching, making it ideal for students, families, sponsors, catechists, and parish programs. The content is structured to accompany the candidate step-by-step, beginning with an introduction to the meaning of Confirmation, its biblical foundations, and its place within the Sacraments of Initiation. The book explains how Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist work together to form a fully initiated disciple of Christ.
One of the strengths of the Saint Joseph Confirmation Book is its clarity. The explanations are concise yet thorough, helping young readers grasp the significance of receiving the Holy Spirit in a deeper and more active way. The book highlights the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit--wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord--and shows how these gifts guide Christians in daily life. Short reflections and practical examples help candidates see how the Spirit empowers them to live courageously, serve generously, and witness joyfully to the Gospel.
The book also includes a rich selection of prayers, making it a devotional companion before, during, and after the sacrament. Traditional prayers to the Holy Spirit, prayers for guidance, prayers for strength, and prayers for living as a confirmed Catholic are presented in a format that encourages daily use. Gospel readings and Scripture passages related to Confirmation deepen the candidate's understanding of Christ's mission and the call to discipleship.
Physically, the book is designed for durability and beauty. The hardcover binding--often produced in a striking red cover--makes it suitable as a keepsake that can be treasured for years. Its compact size allows candidates to carry it easily to class, Mass, retreats, or meetings with sponsors. The layout is clean and inviting, with readable type and thoughtful organization that supports both study and prayer.
Ultimately, the Saint Joseph Confirmation Book is more than an instructional manual--it is a spiritual companion. It helps candidates prepare with confidence, pray with devotion, and understand the lifelong mission they embrace through the Holy Spirit. Whether used individually or in parish programs, it stands as a reliable, faithful, and inspiring resource for the journey toward Confirmation.
