Confessions of a Social Secretary is a memoir written by Corinne Martin Lowe in 1916. The book provides an inside look at the life of a social secretary during the early 20th century in the United States. Lowe worked as a social secretary for some of the wealthiest families in America, including the Vanderbilts and the Astors. The book is divided into chapters that focus on different aspects of Lowe's work, such as organizing parties, managing household staff, and dealing with difficult clients. Lowe also shares her personal experiences, including her romantic relationships and her struggles with balancing her personal and professional life. Throughout the book, Lowe provides insights into the social customs and expectations of the era, as well as the challenges faced by women working in a male-dominated industry. Confessions of a Social Secretary is a fascinating glimpse into the world of high society during the early 20th century and the role of women in that world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
