However, in the midst of the darkness and struggles, God does not leave us; He leaves lanterns among the darkness. The poems are highlights of Matthew's struggles and even though he said goodbye to the darkness, these poems prove that being a Christian does not mean that you are absolved from the grip of the darkness.
