This monograph examines current issues surrounding the use of computerised biometric identification systems in law enforcement. It highlights the historical aspects of the formation and development of biometric identification. It analyses individual methods of biometric identification of individuals. Using the example of foreign experience in the use of biometric documents, it shows ways to counteract the illegal use of human biometric data. The problems of introducing biometric identification systems in law enforcement activities to identify terrorist threats are analysed. The prospects for the use of computerised biometric identification systems in cyberspace, as well as the use of video surveillance systems to ensure the security of mass sporting events, are considered.
