Detective Mara Keating knows how to keep secrets.
Some belong to her job. Some belong to her marriage. And some belong to the private lifestyle community she shares with Cass Ferrier and their friends, where open relationships, consensual nonmonogamy, trust, and discretion are part of the rules.
Then Mara is murdered.
At first, her death appears connected to the swinger lifestyle she kept separate from her career. But Cass soon discovers Mara was hiding something far more dangerous. The veteran detective had been investigating police corruption inside her own department, following money, secret meetings, and officers who had very good reasons to keep her quiet.
Before she died, Mara also created another identity: Kate Morgan.
Now, Cass can't stop asking why.
With her husband, Wes, and their lover, Vera, beside her, Cass is pulled into another adult-lifestyle murder mystery in which privacy can protect the innocent just as easily as it can conceal a killer. Their amateur investigation leads through private clubs, hidden accounts, false alibis, secret relationships, compromised police officers, and evidence Mara deliberately scattered before someone could silence her.
But every new answer creates another suspect.
Was Mara murdered because of what she discovered as a detective? Did someone inside the lifestyle community betray her? Or did a corrupt police officer understand enough about Mara's private life to use it against her?
The deeper Cass digs, the more dangerous the distinction between secrecy and deception, between an open marriage and a hidden agenda, and between the people Mara trusted with her body and those she trusted with her life becomes.
Because in a world built on privacy, deception can hide in plain sight.
And someone in a compromised position will do anything to stay there.
COMPROMISED POSITIONS is Book Six of The Lifestyle Mysteries, a sex-positive adult mystery series combining murder, police corruption, relationships, dark humor, erotic tension, amateur sleuths, and the complicated realities of consensual nonmonogamy.
