What if prayer wasn't about saying the right words, but about actually meeting Jesus?
Most of us were taught to think about God, not to sit down and hang out with God. We learned theology, memorized prayers, and showed up on Sundays. But somewhere along the way, we lost what Christianity is supposed to be: a real relationship with a living person named Jesus.
Come and See invites you into a different kind of prayer, one that uses your imagination to step inside the Gospel stories and encounter Jesus directly. Through 19 guided meditations covering Ash Wednesday, the Sundays and Wednesdays of Lent, and every day of Holy Week through Easter, you'll walk dusty roads with Jesus, sit at tables with him, watch him heal and teach, stand at the cross, and discover the empty tomb.
This isn't abstract theology or devotional fluff. These meditations are vivid, sensory, and deeply personal. You'll hear Jesus ask you questions you don't have easy answers for. You'll see yourself in Judas, in Peter, in the crowds who both celebrated and condemned him. And you'll discover that Jesus isn't waiting for you to get your act together before he gets close. He's already there, already loving you, already inviting you deeper.
Perfect for:
- Christians (of all kinds) looking for a more personal, experiential prayer practice
- Anyone who's been told they're too much or not enough for God
- Folks tired of religion that feels dead and dutiful
- Small groups wanting to journey through Lent together
- Anyone curious about Ignatian imaginative prayer
What makes this book different:
- Written by a Catholic priest committed to welcoming everyone to the table
- Streamlined structure that gives you space for your own encounter (no over-explaining or filling in your experience for you)
- Rooted in Year A Gospel readings from the Catholic Lectionary
- Includes reflection questions for journaling or group discussion
You don't need to have a great imagination. You don't need to do it perfectly. You just need to show up. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. Will you answer?
