When I started teaching photography, I found that many students saw color as something that was already there. They accepted it, recorded it, but rarely questioned it. Black and white, by contrast, seemed to demand a decision. But color also demands it. And that is the heart of this book.
Color photography is not simply an extension of reality: it is an interpretation. Every tone, every nuance, every chromatic contrast can transform an image into a message, an atmosphere, an emotion. The color is not there by accident. It is to be chosen, understood, managed and narrated.

This book was born as a natural continuation of the first volume: Art in Black and White, where we explore light as an essential language, but not as its opposite, rather, as its complement. If black and white teaches us to look at light, color teaches us to listen to the atmosphere, to read emotions, to compose with chromatic intention.
Now, color enters the scene not as an ornament, but as a protagonist. Here it is not a matter of learning how to use color, but of learning to listen to what it says, to decide when and how to use it, and to reveal it with intention.
Throughout these pages, we will walk the path from chromatic theory to digital development, from conscious capture to visual narrative. We will explore how color can suggest calm or tension, how it can guide the gaze or break the silence, how it can be technical and poetic at the same time.
