This book assesses the impact of colonialism on the traditional authority of the people of Mwetug in Kupe Muanenguba Division of the Southwest Region of Cameroon. It discusses how colonial rule came into Mwetug and how the people reacted to the administrative changes that were introduced by the German and British administrations. In order to carry out this book, the historical research method to data analyses and presentation was adopted. This method enabled the researcher to explore both primary and secondary sources on German and British colonialism in Mwetug and Bakossi in general. The study demonstrates that among the Mwetug people of Bakossiland, traditional administrative institutions underwent significant modifications with the arrival of the Germans and subsequently the British in the area. Colonialism brought modifications which hitherto were unknown to the Mwetug people.
