For World Collage Day 2019, I created and hosted a community cut and paste event at a local gallery. It was a blast!
For World Collage Day 2020, I had HUGE plans for an enhanced community collage experience in my small town. As I was putting together the details, the pandemic hit and we were all forced into the uncertainty of the COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. For World Collage Day 2021, I hosted an international call for collage artists, and published a collection of round collages, called THINK GLOBAL, GLUE LOCAL.
In honor of World Collage Day 2022, I doubled my efforts. In addition to an international call for artists, and a publication called COLLAGE IN THE HOUSE, I put out a call for local artists in the Coastal Bend region of South Texas.
These collages, presented in a World Collage Day exhibit at the Gallery @ Anita Diebel Studio in downtown Rockport, reflect a variety of collage styles, and make my heart happy. We will also create a community collage on World Collage Day 2022, so everyone can take part.
I dedicate this collection to collage artists everywhere. And I hope to see your work throughout the Coastal Bend.
