Cloud Pockets is a gentle and heartwarming picture book about kindness, emotional growth, and the quiet magic of giving.
High above a peaceful valley drifts Cloudlet, a shy little cloud who carries tiny pockets filled with warm, glowing light. She treasures her lights closely, unsure of what they are for, and keeps them safely tucked beneath her soft, fluffy folds.
Everything changes when Gusty, a playful and unpredictable wind, tumbles past with a swirl and a whoosh. The sudden burst shakes Cloudlet off balance and opens her pockets wide, sending her glowing lights drifting down toward the silent valley below. Cloudlet watches in surprise as the lights scatter across rooftops, fields, and winding paths, falling exactly where she never meant them to.
When the lights touch the earth, something extraordinary begins to unfold. The valley, once quiet and still, slowly awakens. Warmth spreads through the streets, colours return to the trees, and the sleepy village begins to glow with gentle life once more.
Without meaning to, Cloudlet discovers that her tiny pockets of light were never meant to be hidden. They were meant to brighten the world. Even though the lights spilled out by accident, their soft glow brings comfort, connection, and renewed joy to everything below.
Perfect for children ages 3 to 8, Cloud Pockets supports early social emotional learning through its tender themes of kindness, generosity, and emotional understanding. The storys soft watercolor landscapes and poetic narration create a calming reading experience ideal for bedtime, classroom circles, and gentle conversations about feelings.
Part of the Kindness Stories series, this timeless tale invites young readers to notice small moments of goodness and believe in the quiet magic that happens when we share light, whether on purpose or by surprise.
