Sometimes when time stops, it isn't the clock that's broken.
Mr. Adeyemi's tall standing clock used to tick through the day and night. Then one afternoon, it stopped.
Eli examines the gears, the pendulum, and the weights. Everything works. Nothing is damaged.
So why won't it tick?
As Eli listens carefully, he discovers that the clock stopped the same day harsh words were spoken between a father and his son. Now the house is silent - and so is their relationship.
The Clock That Wouldn't Tick is a powerful yet gentle chapter book for ages 7-9 about forgiveness, courage, and finding the right words when they matter most.
