This book centers around the life of an at-risk youth named Charlie Hill who grew up in the 1960s and early1970s. Instead of turning to guns and violence had the honest intention of remaining an honor student and playing football in hopes of getting an athletic scholarship and a college education. Charlie finds himself caught up in a web of deception, hypocrisy, and greed as he discovers the darker side of a fundamentalist or sanctified church. Instead of a closer walk with Jesus Christ and salvation he finds he has lost himself as encounters those who seek to oculate, inveigle and deceive members of the faith community that he has joined. Youthful Charlie in his quest for truth and righteousness finds that he must search for a way to redeem himself from his spiritual and psychological damage, trauma and wounds that result from being churchified.
