Christina Halvorsen reluctantly inherited the 600-year-old family role of Keeper to a Village of magical wood carved beings that dwell in the attic of the old family house. Though believing she can care for and protect the Villagers, she also can pursue a career in a prestigious marketing firm in Duluth, Minnesota. On top of that, her boss, Angelica Porter, assigns an important project, with unrealistic deadlines, while constantly badgers her, prevents Christina from accomplishing her task of restoring Nicholas. With that, Astrid chooses a young woodcarver, a widower named Ian Thoen to carve her Nicholas while she plays matchmaker. Ian's feisty young daughter Holly gives a hand to push the two together.
