The Xia Dynasty is widely regarded as the first chapter in China's long history (历史 lìshǐ). It is a time where myth and early civilization blend together, forming the roots of what later became Chinese culture (文化 wénhuà ). Through stories of early kings, river control, and the growth of villages, we begin to see how organized society first took shape.
This book introduces the Xia period in a simple and accessible way for learners of Mandarin Chinese (中文 zhōngwén). Each chapter connects historical events with basic language, helping readers learn new words while understanding how ancient people lived and thought.
From the efforts of Yu the Great (大禹 Dà Yǔ) to control floods to the rise of early leadership (领导 lǐngdǎo), the Xia story shows how humans adapted to nature and built the first systems of rule. It also explores daily life (生活 shēnghuó), beliefs, and early social structures.
By combining history with language learning, this book offers a clear path into both ancient China and simple Chinese expression.
