It started with a guitar. The question didn't stay in the choir. When Shady Shafik was told that guitars, drums, and music that might make people move did not belong in a Coptic church, he opened scripture to defend the choir. The question escaped the rehearsal room. Why could a perfect lawgiver prohibit pork but not slavery? Why would an all-powerful, all-knowing, perfectly good creator design a world containing miscarriage, childhood disease, predation, hell, and divine silence? If freedom survives our inability to breathe underwater or grow six inches taller, why must it include rape, torture, and murder? God: The Child of Evil examines the traditional perfect-God doctrine, scripture, miracles, clerical power, women, sexuality, shame, and the moral cost of religious certainty. It presents the strongest Christian replies, then asks whether those replies explain the world-or merely protect the doctrine. This is not a campaign to outlaw belief or erase Coptic culture. It is an argument for keeping the bread, music, incense, hope, stories, and community while refusing any doctrine or institution permission to harm. Belief is yours. Harm is not.
