A Multi-Angle Commemoration: From Individual Stories to the Grand Narrative of Victory
Through a panoramic narrative grounded in robust historical documentation, the author vividly portrays little-known events embedded within the grand story of the World Anti-Fascist War between August 15 and September 3, 1945. From multiple scenes and perspectives, the book reveals the most emblematic actions and mindsets of both the victors and the defeated, carrying a moving power that resonates today in commemorating history and upholding peace.
The work not only explores the psyche of the victors after defeating Japanese fascism, but also records the activities of the Japanese emperor, war criminals, and ordinary citizens on Victory Day. Furthermore, it offers critical reflections on the meaning of victory-addressing Japan's crime and punishment, the emperor's war responsibility, the truth behind Japan's conditional surrender, and the theory of 100 million repent together. Supported by irrefutable historical evidence, the book arrives at serious and valuable academic conclusions.
