Biblical prophecy has produced centuries of competing interpretations. But what if the problem is not that Scripture has failed to provide enough pieces, but that interpreters have been too free to decide where those pieces belong?
THE PIECES ARE ALREADY CUT introduces Backmapping, a method for studying biblical prophecy by allowing Scripture to constrain the interpreter. Instead of beginning with a predetermined prophetic system, the method first identifies time milestones, hard anchors, and chains of evidence. Other prophetic pieces are then placed only where the biblical evidence can support them.
Using Daniel, Zechariah, the Gospels, Paul's letters, and Revelation, the book examines prophetic chronology, Daniel's seventy sevens, the Beast, Babylon, the 1,260 days, the seals, trumpets, and bowls, and the relationship between revelatory sequence and historical sequence.
The goal is not to create another school of prophecy interpretation or to predict the date of future events. It is to ask a simpler question: If God has already cut the pieces, how much freedom do we have to reshape them?
