The snow leopard is also known as the King of the Snowy Mountains. China is home to the largest number of snow leopards in the world, yet today this species has become globally endangered. Zhang Xiwu, Senior Engineer. He has long been engaged in the development and management of protected area systems such as national parks and nature reserves, as well as the conservation and management of wildlife. He formerly served as Director of the Department of Wildlife Conservation and Nature Reserve Management at the State Forestry Administration, and as Director of the Engineering Office for Wildlife Conservation and Nature Reserve Construction and Management.
Liu Yanlin, originally from Hepu County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from Peking University, is a member of the IUCN Cat Specialist Group, and serves as a lecturer at Qinghai Normal University. His research focuses on the conservation status assessment of large mammals, the mechanisms and mitigation strategies of human-wildlife conflict, and the distributional changes of large mammals. He is also actively engaged in the practice of wildlife conservation and management on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau
