凡國中許氏，皆神農胄裔。自許昌至高陽，由八閩入四川，上下數千年，奔徙幾萬里，狀夫屯於山澤，黃發棲於桑榆，子嗣啟毓秀之靈，後昆屬瓜瓞之盛，本枝百世，郁郁乎哉。
西昌許姓源起福建、南京兩家門宗，雖尊同祖，卻非一脈。其中北門一系，自明洪武間始祖許公養仔由福建福清隨軍落籍以降，祚延十來世，躬耕阡陌，累事農桑，厚德處事，本分為人，不求無妄之福，家門總有余慶。及至國寶公、國禎公開田掘銀，釀酒發家，劈山鑿渠，置業千頃，家業初興，聲名漸赫。又至金魁公勤勉繼業，尊亡父而興封堆，築垣樓以禦寇賊，交遊官廳，聞達鄉紳，睥睨縣域，昌隆一方。然則家主一朝而歿，子弟相與分產，運道衰微，不覆重振。所謂富貴僅及父子，尊榮不過三代，命數看似無常，盛衰其實有道，蓋慕浮華而輕文教之故也。幸而後世勤懇篤厚，安道守節，因時應勢，厚積薄發，如今子孫廣被，各有所成。
西昌許姓北門一脈世代垂遠，族系繁茂，序別難辨。嘗有家譜，然經年累月，已難尋跡。今有五世裔許祥等人，自公元二零零六年始，赴周屯而得經久支系譜牒，以辨祖源；偶得啟先公碑，會與國寶公碑，而明北門前三世譜系；又多方探訪族中長輩，依口述，梳枝理。無奈北門支系書牒盡失，祖上碑石多毀，僅憑在世長輩口述記憶，還需多處考據以證真偽，其中艱難，何可勝道。且族中長輩散居各處，大多年事已高，修譜期間已有數人謝世，可悲可嘆。所幸有心人天不負，嘔心瀝血，歷經數年，譜牒乃成，足以慰先靈，敘本系，明世次，敦親睦。
本譜循章立意，有族源，以明始封；有家祖，以識祖上；有世系，以載譜代；有家傳，以通典故；有祠祭，以探祖籍；有字派，以定輩次。是故名冠以修譜，實多有傳記；文起於立牒，意屬以修齊。願百千後世感念斯文，永續家風，光大宗門，源遠流長。
