Be it ordained by the city council of the city of Joliet: Section 1. Jacob A. Henry is hereby authorized to construct, operate and maintain in connection with his present street railway, in said city, a switch track for the passage of cars along the line of said street railway, at the following point, to-wit: On Cass street, between Herkimer street and Eastern avenue, provided the said Jacob A. Henry shall pave the space between said switch track and the main track of said street railway, and also the space between the rails of said switch track, and also said Cass street along the entire length of said switch to a width of two feet from the outside rail of said switch track, said paving to be of uniform character and construction as that which is now, or may hereafter be, in use on the main line of said street railway. Sec. 2. Said city council reserves the right to require said switch track removed whenever in its judgment the public interests may require. Passed and approved this 23rd day of April, A. D. 1888.
