In 2015, more than one million people came to Europe as refugees. Germany got the largest share of them. The reason was that the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, opened the borders stating everyone was welcome. When the critics asked her why, she is quoted in the media as saying, Wir schaffen das, which means We can do this. Mrs. Merkel added, It is a national duty (DW, 04.09.2017). Many small German cities were unable to deal with this massive influx of refugees. Some people blamed Mrs. Merkel and considered it to be a mistake. It was truly a catastrophe and until today, Germany has suffered from this disaster. Said Mansoor was a wealthy TV-presenter of a political show in Iraq. He was threatened with death because he had apparently crossed a red line in his show by opening cases against people in the Iraqi government. He fled Iraq in search of a safe place, Europe (Germany). During his journey, he faced many difficulties and challenges. He also met some important, influential people with connections. Those who have a significant influence on our lives. These people helped Said to achieve his aim in his journey. Was the help for free or did Said have to give something in return? This fictional story is based on a true story. However, there are many events, scenes, name of people and cities which have been changed for privacy protection and security. CHANGE! It has never been easy...
