Chancellor Chess: Or The New Game Of Chess is a book written by Benjamin R. Foster in 1889. The book presents a new version of the classic game of chess, called Chancellor Chess. The game is played on a board similar to the traditional chess board, but with some key differences in the pieces and their movements. In Chancellor Chess, each player has a Chancellor piece, which combines the movements of the rook and the knight in traditional chess. The other pieces, such as pawns, bishops, and queens, have similar movements to their counterparts in traditional chess. The book provides a detailed explanation of the rules of Chancellor Chess, as well as strategies and tactics for playing the game. It also includes diagrams and illustrations to help players visualize the board and the movements of the pieces.Overall, Chancellor Chess: Or The New Game Of Chess is a fascinating exploration of a new version of one of the most popular board games in the world. It is a must-read for chess enthusiasts and anyone interested in the history and evolution of board games. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
