A Census of Autograph Music Manuscripts of European Composers in American Libraries is a comprehensive reference book written by Otto Edwin Albrecht. The book contains an extensive catalog of autograph music manuscripts of European composers that are currently held in American libraries. The book is divided into two parts: the first part provides an introduction to the history and significance of autograph music manuscripts, while the second part is a detailed list of the manuscripts themselves. The book covers a wide range of composers, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, and many others. Each entry in the catalog includes information about the composer, the title of the manuscript, the library where it is held, and a brief description of the contents. The book also includes an index of composers and a bibliography for further reading.Overall, A Census of Autograph Music Manuscripts of European Composers in American Libraries is an invaluable resource for music scholars, historians, and enthusiasts who are interested in studying the original handwritten works of some of the greatest composers in history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
