This book is a record of the Virginia Land Grants under the name of patentee or grantee from 1623 -1666. Within these records one will discover the number of acres, locations and dates of settlement, and many times the names of various family members. The family historian will aslo discover references to marriages, wills, and other legal instruments. It also has the names of thousands who were transported or brought over by the early settlers as headrights. The index contains the names of approximately 20,000 persons.
