Captain Cartwright and His Labrador Journal is a book written by George Cartwright, which is a personal account of his experiences and adventures in Labrador, Canada. The book is a collection of journal entries that Cartwright wrote during his time in Labrador, where he lived for over six years.Cartwright was an English explorer, trader, and soldier who sailed to Labrador in 1770. He was fascinated by the natural beauty of the region and decided to stay there to explore and document the land, its people, and its wildlife. The book is a first-hand account of his observations and experiences during his stay in Labrador. In the book, Cartwright describes the harsh living conditions in Labrador, the challenges he faced in surviving in the wilderness, and his interactions with the local Inuit people. He also writes about the flora and fauna of the region, including his encounters with bears, wolves, and other wild animals. The Labrador Journal is not only a personal account of Cartwright's experiences but also a valuable historical document that provides insight into the early exploration of Canada. The book is a fascinating read for anyone interested in history, exploration, and adventure. It is also a must-read for those who love Labrador and its wilderness. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
