This 1927 American Battle Monuments Commission guide is organised by region and campaign: Aisne-Marne, St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, Champagne, and the areas north of Paris including Flanders, Ypres, the St. Quentin Canal Tunnel and Cantigny. It includes narrative, photographs and maps. General of the Armies John Pershing, who had led the American Expeditionary Forces in France during World War I, became Chairman of the American Battlefield Monuments Commission in 1923. Major Dwight Eisenhower was sent to his staff. Eisenhower drafted this volume.
