Price invites us, as readers, into the quiet 'moments' of these poems-moments mostly of praise and contemplation of both the grandest of truths and the smallest of beauties. Price does not, however, attempt to 'paint over' the darkness. There is a groaning here, of the self in correspondence both with others and with nature, as well as on their behalf. Price's sonnet, 'To My Wife, ' reflects this beautifully-though never hopelessly. These poems are, overwhelmingly, poems of hope.
