Broken Before Dawn is an emotional drama novel about love, grief, betrayal, and survival. It follows the life of Naledi, a young woman whose world keeps falling apart every time she tries to rebuild it. After losing her baby shortly after birth, she is forced to deal with unbearable pain while carrying the weight of heartbreak and trauma.
The story becomes darker when her baby daddy, Mandla, takes his own life after being trapped between guilt, pressure, and secrets. Before Naledi can even heal from that tragedy, the woman involved in Mandla's affair, Limpho, also dies by suicide, leaving behind unanswered questions and emotional scars that haunt everyone connected to them.
As Naledi struggles to move forward, Michael enters the story as someone who sees her pain beyond the surface. Through heartbreak, toxic relationships, loss, and moments of hope, the novel explores how people can be completely shattered by life yet still search for a reason to survive
